Round 7, Pick 226

Pick Analysis. RB. player. 57. Scouting Report. TCU. Darius Anderson. 7

Last year, the Bears attempted to bring in a third running back via free agency in Mike Davis. Between Davis not looking great, the offensive line needing work and Nagy not necessarily knowing how to use three backs, Davis found himself cut before the season’s end.

This season, the Bears should try to go find their no. 3 running back via the draft. In turn, Nagy needs to use this back sparingly and allow him to develop over time and on special teams. In addition, Nagy has vowed to use Cordarrelle Patterson more as a running back, too, so whomever the Bears go with as their third back will be rarely used.

Darius Anderson is somebody the Bears could take a shot on in the seventh round. Landing another TCU player to go with Reagor, the Bears may see something promising in Anderson. The four-year Horned Frog found himself sharing time his whole career, so he’d come to the NFL with fresh legs and plenty of experience co-existing with other backs.

Though he was never a workhorse, Anderson still amassed over 2,400 yards on the ground in his four seasons with TCU. He also scored 18 touchdowns.

Coming to the Bears, he could earn a roster spot if he found a way to greatly improve his vision and patience as a runner. Those two areas are where he lacks the polish.
