4. Case Keenum

Would I hate Case Keenum in Chicago? No I wouldn’t. But, I do think he’s a tad overrated. After all, Keenum has only had one career season with over 20 touchdown passes. Bears fans might remember that season well, as he and their division rival Minnesota Vikings capped off what is now dubbed the “Minneapolis Miracle.”

Keenum would be a solid fit within Matt Nagy’s offense, which is why I could see Pace going after him on a cheap deal. He checks a lot of boxes. Keenum is sneaky mobile, a great leader and comes with plenty of experience. If Pace is strictly looking for someone to come in and take the place of Chase Daniel without stripping the job from Trubisky initially, then Keenum is the right call.

But, again, I wouldn’t be thrilled with Keenum as a Bear. I don’t think he offers what the Bears need in order to win a Super Bowl. Unless Chicago can establish a top-10 rushing offense, he won’t see much success. Keenum isn’t going to be the sole reason they win games.

He’s never thrown for over 4,000 yards in a season or more than 22 touchdowns. He’s never made a Pro Bowl, even back in 2017 when the Vikings were one of the league’s hot teams. Keenum is one of those guys who would be ‘fine’ as a veteran backup, but nothing more.
