Chicago lands their quarterback

In the end, the perfect situation unfolds and the Bears deal for Derek Carr after the Las Vegas Raiders sign Tom Brady. What’s the trade, you ask?

Honestly, it doesn’t matter. A second-round pick should get it done, and would be well-worth Carr’s services.

With Carr in Chicago, the Bears are a legitimate Super Bowl contender. For whatever reason, Gruden hasn’t seemed to be 100 percent on board with Carr since coming to the Raiders. To an extent, I get it. As a new head coach, and one who signed a 10-year deal, you want to go out and get the guy you want. For now, that guy might be Brady.

But, letting go of Carr will lead to another team’s benefit and that team very well may be the Bears.

Netting a 2-time (nearly 4-time) 4,000-yard passer and allowing him to work with weapons like Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, David Montgomery, Tarik Cohen and Cordarrelle Patterson should leave Bears fans more than satisfied. Who knows, maybe Pace goes out and adds yet another weapon or two — speed at wideout and another pass-catching tight end.

In Chicago, Carr has the best shot at a Super Bowl he’s ever seen. Forget about Mitchell Trubisky. Deep down, Pace knows he made a mistake. There’s no way he thinks Trubisky leads them to a ring. This year, it is Carr’s show.
