1. S Jayron Kearse, Minnesota Vikings

Nobody knows what will happen at the safety position for the Bears over the next few weeks. While the team could retain either Ha Ha Clinton-Dix or Deon Bush, it’s highly unlikely that both are back. This means the Bears could turn to the free agent market to fill the void.

One name that could interest the Bears is Jayron Kearse. A seventh-round pick of the Vikings back in 2016, Kearse is looking for an opportunity to prove himself after starting just five games in four seasons for the Vikings.

While some may look at the lack of starts and instantly assume that he’s not a good player, it’s worth noting that he did sit behind guys like Harrison Smith, Anthony Harris, and Andrew Sendejo. Essentially, he’s a guy who’s been buried on the depth chart.

At just 26 years old, the biggest advantage of signing Kearse would be that he’s going to be cheap and could end up starting next to Eddie Jackson for the next few years. He won’t break the bank and if the Bears don’t like what they see from him, they can cut him with ease without having to eat much dead cap.
