Dylan Strome came over to Chicago in a 2018-19 trade that sent Nick Schmaltz to the Arizona Coyotes. The Hawks looked to be the winner in that trade as Strome came over and had an awesome start to his Blackhawks career. He had 51 points in 58 games with Chicago during the rest of that season and looked to be taking over the second-line center role.

This season has been a little bit different. He hasn’t been awful but he certainly hasn’t been as good as he was when he first came over. He has 10 goals and 23 assists for 33 points in 53 games. That is not what people were expecting to see from Strome in 2019-20. That drop off in production has seen the depth of this team take a hit.

You can say that Strome struggling to score at times this year is one of the main causes of where this team is in the standings. If he were able to have a strong finish this year, the Hawks would have an even more dangerous attack and could build on it. It might be too little too late for this season but feeling good about himself going into next year is important for Strome.
