Yep, Vic Beasley, the former first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft is now looking for a new home. Beasley’s 2016 season, where he notched 15.5 sacks seems like it never happened. Between 2017 and 2019, he’s got 18 total sacks.

The Bears need help at edge rusher for two reasons. First, Leonard Floyd hasn’t proven he can step up and make plays when needed, despite being given opportunities to. And second, behind Floyd and Khalil Mack, the Bears have nobody to step up.

What the Bears, Floyd, and Mack need is a third edge rusher to step up and take some of the load off their plate. Aaron Lynch was mediocre during his two years in Chicago which means Beasley could be the perfect replacement.

What Beasley is looking for this offseason is an opportunity. But not just any, he’s looking for the right one. And the Bears present just that. He’d be signed to a cheap deal and would come in and play right behind Floyd and Mack.

The culture the Bears have established, particularly on defense, would help a guy like Beasley get his career back on track. At just 27-years old, Beasley could sign a one-year prove-it deal that would allow for him to potentially get a long-term deal somewhere else in 2021.
