2. WR Paul Richardson

Besides Allen Robinson, the Bears wide receiving core was unnoticeable in 2019. Anthony Miller didn’t break out in year two like everyone hoped he would while Javon Wims and Riley Ridley weren’t given enough opportunities.

The Bears need to add a wide receiver this year and a deep threat like Paul Richardson could be an under-the-radar option they consider. At just 27 years old, Richardson still has plenty of gas left in the tank. When he was with the Seattle Seahawks from 2014 until 2017, he averaged 13.7 yards per reception.

Between 2018 and 2019 as a member of the Washington Redskins, Richardson averaged 10.6 yards per reception and just four touchdowns. While this would be a red flag to some, keep in mind that he was doing so with erratic quarterback play that held back the entire offense.

After being cut just two years into a five year, $40 million dollar deal he signed, Richardson is looking for work again and the Bears need for a slot receiver could garner interest from both sides. While it may not be the flashiest signing, it could be one that would look like one of the smartest moves of the offseason if it pays off in the end.
