4. Quarterback Jake Fromm, Georgia
Welcome to the debate, folks. As we get closer and closer to the draft, you’ve seen more Bears fans gravitate away from Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm. Once a tantalizing name several months back, Fromm’s status as a guy Bears fans wanted has cooled off quite a bit.
Alas, Fromm has confirmed he met with the Bears this week. We all know Ryan Pace and his affinity for Georgia, so it would not be surprising to see Chicago go after him on Day 2.
Fromm certainly has big game experience, but his accuracy is the big question mark. First off, Fromm doesn’t throw a lot of picks, which is a good thing of course. He finished with 24 touchdowns to just five interceptions last year. In 2018, he threw just six interceptions to 30 touchdowns.
Jake Fromm says he models his game after Drew Brees. Loves throwing fades and out cuts.

The completion percentage is what you’ll see people hammer on him for, as last year’s 60.8 percent was a career-low for him. He had a string of a few games where that number fell below 50 percent.
Now, while several folks like to point out Fromm’s flaws, I consider this meeting a good thing.
Whether or not Fromm comes to Chicago, this meeting proves how serious Pace really is about potentially finding a Day 2 quarterback. If Pace drafted a quarterback in Round 2, that immediately puts Trubisky on the hot seat — and that’s a great thing.
