Another wasted season for Chicago

The Chicago Blackhawks might never have two impact guys like Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane play for them at the exact same time ever again. These two led them to three Stanley Cups in a span of six seasons before the dark times. Now, you can argue that they have gotten better but the team has been worst. This trade deadline is a sign of another wasted season for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Patrick Kane is on pace for 102 points while Toews is also having another really solid season at both ends of the ice. Dominik Kubalik is a rookie of the year candidate and both goalies have also played extremely well. It is everything beyond that which has made this season appear to be a waste. With players at the top of your lineup that are this good, you should at least be in the conversation for the playoffs.  The Blackhawks are not based on their trade deadline decisions.

They need to figure this thing out fast. They need to fire whoever they need to fire, hire whoever they need to hire and bring in the right players to help this thing along. They also need to do a better job with their development. The development was good early on but lately, they have either mismanaged guys or traded them away too early. The transactions that took place on the trade deadline day made the good parts of the season feel like such a waste.
