Chicago Blackhawks: Three trade packages for Brandon Saad
Trade 1
The Edmonton Oilers are known for having two of the best centers in the entire world on their team. Connor McDavid and Leon Drasaitl form what is probably the new best 1-2 punch at the center in the entire National Hockey League. The Oilers provide a top-six winger’s dream with those two guys. If Brandon Saad were to be traded to Edmonton, he would have the potential to score more goals then he has ever scored.
McDavid is currently injured so he would probably get a crack at Draisaitl at first, but once McDavid comes back he would also probably get a crack at Saad. Either way though, Saad would be getting looks in places he has never gotten looks from. Think of what Patrick Kane does for guys he plays with and magnify it. He would also get to play with them on the power play as well if the Oilers really wanted to load up.
The Blackhawks would be so smart to add a first-round pick and Philip Broberg from Edmonton in a Brandon Saad trade. The 2020 NHL Draft is extremely rich with talent. It has the potential to be one of the best drafts ever so the more first-round picks, the better.
Broberg was taken with the eighth overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft so clearly he has an extremely high ceiling. He is also a defenseman which is a position that the Blackhawks need as many young prospects to play as possible. They can’t defend at all at the NHL level so addressing that need for the future is pivotal.
