Chicago Blackhawks: Trade scenarios and consequences for both goalies
Corey Crawford is one of the best goaltenders to ever put on a Chicago Blackhawks sweater. He has been the rock in the net for a team that won two Stanley Cups with him back there. He came in and gave the Hawks what they needed after they were unable to retain Antti Niemi after he won the 2010 Stanley Cup.
In 2013 and 2015, Crawford stole the show on many nights which gave the Hawks a chance to win many games. This guy getting traded would certainly have the most fan reaction if it were to actually happen. This is a beloved character amongst Chicago athletes over the last decade. He might even be Hall of Fame worthy or possibly have his number retired one day. Trading him to get one last chance at the Cup would be doing a service to him and the team.
Whichever team picked up Crawford for the stretch run would be getting more than just a goalie. They would be getting a guy who has seen it all. He has had ups and downs. The ups were about as high as you can get in the hockey world. His Stanley Cup experience would be invaluable to any team that needs some of that type of knowledge headed into the postseason.
