Thaddeus Moss, the son of football legend Randy Moss, had a solid college career. Now as he looks towards the draft, the Chicago Bears need to keep a close eye on him.

The Chicago Bears desperately need a new tight end. Trey Burton doesn’t cut it anymore. I like Jesper Horsted but he isn’t a number one tight end. As the rumors circulate of a Greg Olsen return to Chicago, that doesn’t mean the Bears should stay quiet during the NFL Draft.

Thaddeus Moss had a solid college career. Moss’ numbers aren’t outstanding, but he came through in some big moments.  Last season, Moss caught 47 passes for 570 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 12.1 yards per reception. He also blocked well and made Joe Burrow‘s life a lot easier.

At 6-foot-3, 249 pounds, Moss isn’t someone who will be pushed around easily. I don’t think Moss will go in the first round. He is projected to go anywhere from the second round until the fourth round. If he is on the board when the Bears are on the clock, it would be a mistake to pass up on him.

He isn’t going to be a great player right away though. Signing Olsen to a one or two-year deal would be ideal for the Bears. They would have him as a security blanket for Mitchell Trubisky as Moss grew in the league.

Olsen as the starter would also take a lot of pressure off of Moss. It’ll give him time to learn the Matt Nagy offense and get used to the speed of the game.

I personally think the Bears’ offense will turn things around in 2020. They need to fix up some problems on the offensive line and at the tight end position. Adding new offensive coaches is a great start. The fresh minds to help mature Nagy as a head coach in year three is going to benefit the team a lot.

It’ll all come down to the success at the quarterback position. If Trubisky is given all the tools he needs to succeed, it’ll be all up to him. This is his last season under his rookie deal. I think the Bears can win with him, it’s time for him to prove it.

They have to start with drafting Moss and signing Olsen. Fixing up the offensive line is key. A healthy Trubisky means a successful Trubisky. That’s something Trubisky struggled with last season. Staying healthy.

dark. Next. Bears: 5 players the team must re-sign

2019 was a bad year for the team. It’s time to move past that and focus on the future. The Bears have a bright future. It’s time for them to show it.
