The Chicago Bears have some work to do this offseason but what are some roster issues nobody is talking about?

As the Chicago Bears offseason continues, it’s clear that if there’s been one position that’s dominated the headlines so far, it’s been quarterback. However, the Bears still have a number of issues that need to be fixed.

The reality is that this isn’t the same roster as it was just over 14 months ago. After 2018’s brutal playoff exit, the 2019 offseason was all about kickers. Other than that, the Bears appeared to be loaded at every position.

Yet fast forward nearly a year later and the Bears have more holes to fill than people think. Most would assume that it’s just best to go on a spending spree and fill holes in free agency. However, the major issue with that philosophy is that there’s only so much money to go around.

Then there’s the 2020 NFL Draft. The Bears are projected to have seven or eight draft picks yet they’ve got just two selections within the first three rounds. The draft can provide the Bears with an opportunity to fill some of these roster holes but expecting multiple day two and three rookies to contribute at a high level in 2020 isn’t going to happen.

Overall, as we head into the interesting parts of the NFL offseason where we’ll see the Bears in Indianapolis at the NFL Scouting Combine, free agency, and then the 2020 NFL Draft with an opportunity to retool the roster, what are some roster issues that nobody is talking about that will need to be addressed some time over the next few weeks? Let’s break it all down!
