Chicago Bears Free Agency: 5 players team must re-sign
By Ryan Heckman
Inside Linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis
Hopefully, we saw just enough from Kevin Pierre-Louis last season — enough for the Bears to realize they need him back, but not enough for other teams to realize they should pursue him on a multi-year deal.

Filling in for the remaining three games of the season in 2019, Pierre-Louis looked like a machine out there. The Bears were hurting, but he came in and didn’t miss a beat.
In his six pro seasons, Pierre-Louis has played for the Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and now the Bears. Prior to 2019, he had only one career start before making three in a row with the Bears.
Pierre-Louis would be as valuable a backup as the Bears could find, especially if they see Nick Kwiatkoski sign with another team to go and be a starter — which is a very plausible outcome.
Last year, he did a little bit of everything while starting just three games: 32 tackles (22 solo), three passes defensed, two quarterback hits, two tackles for loss and an interception.
If Pace can find a way to bring him back on a cheap deal to be their primary backup in the middle, the Bears would be a major winner here.
