5. Tyler Eifert

I will forever be aboard the Tyler Eifert hype train, no matter how many times it breaks down. Maybe it’s because I took him in the final round of my fantasy football draft back in 2015 and looked like an absolute genius, or maybe it’s because I always believed in the talent.

Regardless, Eifert is such a polarizing player. The guy has only played one full season since his rookie year in 2013, and it was last season, believe it or not. Injuries have wreaked havoc on Eifert’s career since his second season in the NFL, and quite frankly, it’s sad.

This guy is a fantastic talent, and to see him miss so many games over the years is a travesty.

But, if he’s past his injury woes (which last year would tell us is true, though a small sample size) the Bears would be foolish not to give him a shot. Eifert is truly one of the best tight ends in the game today when he’s healthy. His combination of size at 6-foot-6, the ability to run routes and catch the football in traffic is all what makes him a special player.

Again, we would be hoping for a healthy Eifert. If he played all 16 games as a starter, there is no reason the Bears couldn’t get a minimum of 500 yards and six touchdowns from him. Eifert gives the Bears everything they need at tight end, and if the Bengals are about to go through a big-time overhaul, I think Chicago would be a strong landing spot.
