Chicago Bulls Trade Deadline: 3 intriguing players on the block
By Ryan Heckman
2. D’Angelo Russell, Golden State Warriors
Technically, no one is really sure if D’Angelo Russell qualifies as “on the trade block,” but the Warriors seem to be listening to offers. If you have followed the rumors for a while now, it’s been the Minnesota Timberwolves at the forefront of teams who covet the star point guard. The latest buzz includes both the Wolves and the New York Knicks as the top two teams involved.

It is a long shot for the Bulls to land Russell, obviously. But, the intriguing part about the Bulls, if they were to throw their name in the conversation, is that the Warriors would potentially get back the best possible draft picks. This year, the Bulls could again be set for a top-10 pick.
If the Warriors would end up with multiple top-10 picks in the upcoming draft, the rest of the league should be scared — although it’s not that strong of a class.
Let’s not forget, the Bulls wouldn’t be throwing just one pick the Warriors’ way. It is going to take a minimum of two first-round picks to get Russell.
Would the Warriors bite on a deal involving Lauri Markkanen and two first-round picks? Would the Bulls have to increase it to three?
Here’s the thing to remember: The Bulls haven’t “hit” on a first-round pick in a while. What are the odds they get a star out of their next two or three first-round draft picks? Tossing their name in the hat, in regards to Russell, is a low-risk situation.
