3. Helps fill void left by Kyle Long

One of the things you won’t hear talked about as much as it should be this offseason is the void left by Kyle Long.

No, I’m not talking about the actual void left on the offensive line. I’m talking about the leadership void.

What Long brought to the Bears, beyond any football-related talent on the field, is his undeniable leadership. This was his locker room. He and Akiem Hicks were two of the most prominent leaders this team had over the last few years. Without Long, the Bears have an enormous void to fill.

Funny enough, Olsen coming back to the team which drafted him and being that leader would be something to behold. It sure would (likely) be an intriguing end to his career, after doing so much for the Panthers and his community surrounding the Carolina organization.

If you’ve followed Olsen in the least, you know how dedicated he is to his family and the community around him. He’s one of the most respected players around the league, and has been for a decade. The integrity, character and poise he brings to a team like the Bears would be infectious. He’s a guy Nagy could lean on in many situations.

Bringing Olsen to Chicago would help in so many ways, but this one should be brought up more than any of them.
