Chicago Blackhawks: 3 moves to save Stan Bowman’s job
The Chicago Blackhawks have had a bit of success lately and it could have cooled down Stan Bowman’s hot seat that he was on before.
The Chicago Blackhawks have been pretty good lately. They went into their bye week/All-Star break winning five out of their last six games. They are as of right now only three points out of a playoff spot, depending on how their Western Conference foes due while the Hawks are on break. This team got off to a horrible start but have reasserted themselves back into the playoff race thanks to some really good play from the team as a whole.
There were some whispers earlier in the season about the status of their general manager Stan Bowman. He has not really been that good at his job over the last few seasons and the team has suffered because of it. There have been some disaster moves made by Stan that have ended their dynasty run a couple of years earlier than it should have.
Stan has been awful at making trades over the last few years but there have been a few moves that have saved his job. He is in no way off the hot seat as the second half of this season should determine the status of his job. The team has a core with players like Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith, and Jonathan Toews who are all still really good players who have proven they can win.
The fall of this franchise in recent years is unacceptable and they already made one coaching change. If they make it to the playoffs that could ultimately delay the firing of Bowman again. As we stand right now, these are the three moves Stan made that is currently saving his job:
