The Chicago Blackhawks could end up being sellers if they fall off but lately, it looks like the could end up being buyers with how hot they’ve been.

The Chicago Blackhawks went into their bye week winning five out of their last six games. It was an impressive run for them. Returning from the break should see them a bit rusty but if they come back hot they will have a real chance to make the playoffs. They went into the break only three points out of the playoffs so there is definitely a chance.

If they play well out of the break they could look to be buyers at the trade deadline. They might be looking for a piece to add to their group to help stabilize them going into their playoff chase. They are likely not going to find anything that makes them a true contender for the Stanley Cup but with a core of Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews you just never know.

One team that is going to be sellers for sure is the New Jersey Devils. They went into the season with extremely high expectations but a bunch of different scenarios has led to them not living up to those expectations. They are going to be looking to move the rest of their expiring contracts as they look to build towards the future. They have an extremely nice young core to build around, so getting rid of these guys for future assets could be something they consider.

They already traded their superstar free agent to be in Taylor Hall to the Arizona Coyotes. That was a massive shift in the NHL as the Devils were forced to move it. It is clear that their season is over with all things considered and the Blackhawks could take advantage. These three players would fit the Blackhawks the best:
