3. Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams

Let’s take things back to the 2017 NFL Draft. The Bears were originally slated to pick at 36th overall before trading back to 45th overall. While we know that the Bears ended taking Adam Shaheen, what most don’t know is that the player picked at 44th overall was Gerald Everett.

Shaheen and Everett will always be compared. Yet if there’s been one thing that’s been clear, it’s that Everett’s career has gone much better than most expected. This offseason, the Rams are projected to have about $19 million dollars in cap space. However, some of that money will go towards resigning Corey Littleton and Dante Fowler Jr.

Everett is an interesting player because his production isn’t amazing yet he’s still able to provide some kind of receiving ability because he’s averaged 11.3 yards per reception throughout his career.

While Everett is under contract until the end of the 2020 season, if the Rams become desperate to clear up cap space to resign either Littleton or Fowler, they could decide to trade Everett who would take just over a million dollars off the books.

The compensation for Everett would likely end up being a fourth-round pick. While Los Angeles does view Everett as being a major part of their offense, if the Bears are willing to include some kind of conditional pick in 2021, the Rams could have a hard time saying no to Ryan Pace.
