2. Joshua Kelley, Running Back, UCLA

The Bears should look to add a running back this offseason, especially if they want to create a more formidable duo with David Montgomery. Whether or not they continue to use Tarik Cohen in that type of role remains to be seen, but many would like to see the team pair Montgomery with a bigger, more standard size at the running back position.

Joshua Kelley could fit the mold, and the Bears wouldn’t have to spend a high draft pick to get him. With running backs coming a dime a dozen these days, there is no need for Chicago to go after another higher profile back after trading up for Montgomery last year.

Kelley, at the moment, is ranked as a potentially undrafted guy. But, Saturday afternoon could have changed that. At this point, if the Bears could still get him in the fifth or sixth round, I wouldn’t be upset. He performed well against his fellow seniors, and over the past two years he’s rushed for over 2,300 yards and 24 touchdowns.

In Saturday’s game, Kelley finished with 105 yards on 15 carries and showed decisiveness when finding a lane. Based on reports over the week, he also had strong practices. One of the best parts about his game is the ability to run routes as a receiver.

Throughout his week of practice, Kelley put that on full display, proving he can split out wide and run crisp routes, without noticeable lag in his footwork. That should give him a leg up on a lot of his fellow backs come draft day.
