Over the course of Senior Bowl practices this past week, Syracuse edge rusher Alton Robinson was hot and cold. From many reports, one could assume that his week of practice could have been a lot better if he wanted to improve his draft stock. He was consistently manhandled throughout the week during drills.

Saturday afternoon was a different story, however. Robinson finished the day with two sacks on two different quarterbacks. The first of his sacks came in the second quarter when he brought down a big name: Former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Later on, he sacked Colorado quarterback Steven Montez for his second of the day. It was a welcomed performance for a guy who only totaled 4.0 sacks in 2019 — which was way down compared to his 2018 campaign, where he finished with 10.0.

The Bears will undoubtedly need some help off the edge this offseason, especially if they cut ties with Leonard Floyd.

At the moment, Robinson is projected to go in the middle rounds (no. 100 overall prospect according to CBS Sports, no. 111 per The Draft Network). The 6-foot-4 senior may end up fitting better as a 4-3 defensive end, but his combine and pro day will help answer that question a little more as well.
