Chicago Bears: 5 Senior Bowl prospects worth trading up for
By Ryan Heckman
EDGE Terrell Lewis, Alabama
Projected Round(s): Late 1st, early 2nd
Must trade up if available in early Round 2
Depending on what the Bears do with Leonard Floyd, they’ll need to look at another starting EDGE rusher. Floyd’s fifth year option was picked up last spring, but if the Bears cut him, they lose nothing in terms of cap space. They can cut ties with Floyd and have zero dead cap, if they chose to do so.

Alabama is always good for producing top-end talent defensively, and Terrell Lewis is no exception. The 6-foot-5, 252 pound pass rusher is a physical, violent kind of player, which would look real dangerous opposite a guy like Khalil Mack.
Lewis’ frame is perfect for his position, and he’s built like a rock. He’s got longer arms, too, giving him an advantage over a lot of other guys at his spot.
One thing he’ll need to work on as a pro is his technique, but that’s not surprising coming from a guy like Lewis. He’s naturally gifted, athletically, and may not have had to use sharp technique all of the time. At the NFL level, honing his strength and athleticism into better technique will make him quite the threat.
If Lewis is there in the mid-30’s, I would think the Bears could trade no. 43 and a fifth round pick to get up and grab Lewis, and maybe get a seventh rounder in return as well.
