Chicago Blackhawks: 3 players who need to improve post-bye week
The Chicago Blackhawks made another disaster trade when they sent Henri Jokiharju to the Buffalo Sabres for Alexander Nylander. With that said, that doesn’t mean that Chicago can’t still somewhat salvage Nylander’s career. He is the brother of William Nylander who is a very good player for the Tronto Maple Leafs so he definitely has a good support system. This is a former first-round pick in his own right so the talent is in there somewhere. If they can unlock it, this team would be very well off.
Nylander has had opportunities in all sorts of roles on this team. He would be best suited as a middle-six forward. He has six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 47 games. If he can improve on those numbers just slightly, this team will have so much more scoring depth. They have studs like Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews carrying their weight so a depth scorer like Nylander would go a long way for them.
He is the type of guy who could use his skills to help himself and his teammates. You have seen a guy like Dominik Kubalik elevate his game and how that has helped the team. If Nylander can do something similar, it would go a long way for this team. He is a candidate who can really help them win more in the second half.
