The Chicago Blackhawks earned their fifth win in a row but in the process, Patrick Kane recorded his 1000th career point.

The Chicago Blackhawks earned their fifth win in a row. It has been a very exciting stretch of hockey for them as they continue to win games against formidable opponents. They defeated the Winnipeg Jets by a final score of 5-2. It was their first game back home after a three-game road trip in Canada. Their fifth win in a row now has them at 7-3-0 in their last ten games. As a result, they are now only three points back of the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

It has been a great performance by the team over the last week. This game against the Winnipeg Jets, however, was overshadowed by one individual milestone. Patrick Kane had the secondary assist on a goal by Brandon Saad that will go down in history as one of the great milestones in Blackhawks history. It was his 1000th point in the National Hockey League.

Kane joined Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull, and Denis Savard as the only four players to collect 1000 points in the NHL. He was only the 90th player in NHL history to have 1000 points so it is clearly an elite company to be in. He was also the youngest American born player to reach the 1000 point plateau. He is well on his way to going down as the greatest American hockey player to ever live. He has been one of, if not the best players this franchise has ever seen.

He doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of slowing down which is really good news for Blackhawks fans. He still cares desperately about winning so you just never know. He has the Blackhawks on a roll so hopefully, it will continue. The team still needs to prove it can win on days where Kane doesn’t have a point but for right now, he is the perfect offensive leader for this team.

Kane and the Blackhawks are going to be welcoming in a very familiar face to the United Center on Tuesday night in their next game. Joel Quenneville and the Florida Panthers bring their team to town on a roll. They are currently in playoff position looking to continue rolling. They have a lot of really good players but Coach Q has clearly made an impact. It will be an awesome moment for him to come back into the building where he became a legend.
