The Chicago Blackhawks swept their three-game Canadian road trip which has them right back on the playoff bubble as they come back home.

The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-2 in a high powered offensive matchup. Both teams have a lot of superstar firepower but the Blackhawks were just better in this game. They handled them as well as you can by limiting them to only two goals. They were led by Jonathan Toews who had four points in the win. Dominik Kubalik scored two goals once again to give him 20 on the season. It has been an incredible stretch for these two.

Patrick Kane had an assist in the game to give him 999 career points. He had plenty of time left in the game to reach that 1000 point milestone, but he is going to have to wait until tonight to try again. His next goal or assist will make him only the fourth player in Blackhawks history to reach the 1000 point plateau. He will join Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull, and Denis Savard which is an elite company to be a part of.

This was a highly successful road trip for the Blackhawks. Each game on their Canadian road trip got tougher and they managed. They went down 2-0 Ottawa in the first game on the trip and from that point on they were awesome. The 3-0 trip and four straight wins have put them back in reach for the playoffs. This has been a tough season but it is fun to watch them not give up and be competitive.

Corey Crawford had the start for the Hawks in this game. Robin Lehner was the player who was better in net for most of the season but Crawford has really turned it on. It is not like the Leafs are an easy team to play goalie against either because they are as good as anyone at creating high danger chances for themselves. Auston Matthews and John Tavares were both kept completely off the scoresheet which is very rare.

The Blackhawks are back in action tonight when the Winnipeg Jets come to Chicago. This is an intriguing game as two teams in the same area of the standings duke it out. This is also fun because it is an opportunity to win their fifth in a row. They are definitely hot right now so hopefully, they can take that momentum back home. This is also a chance for Patrick Kane to reach that 1000th point.
