By Usayd Koshul
As the Chicago Bears head to Mobile, Alabama for the Reese’s Senior Bowl, who are a few defensive prospects that they should pay attention to?
Beginning Monday, the Chicago Bears preparation for the 2020 NFL Draft will officially be taken to another level. With Reese’s Senior Bowl week officially kicking off in Mobile, Alabama, general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy, as well as the entire Bears scouting staff will have an opportunity to get an extended look at some interesting prospects. Many could be on the board when the Bears are officially on the clock in April.
This is one of the most intriguing draft classes that the Senior Bowl has seen in recent memory. There is a lot of talent; some of which will be available on day three, meaning that the Bears will have an opportunity to shore up some depth on the roster.
On the defensive side of the ball, one can argue that the Bears are loaded with talent at every position. But, with a few moves, there could be some new faces at positions such as defensive end, safety, and cornerback. And then there’s positions like outside linebacker which will see the tandem of Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd return again in 2020 but likely have some new faces behind both on the depth chart.
While a lot will change between now and April, what are some defensive prospects that the Bears need to keep an eye on as Senior Bowl week begins? Each of these names could go on day one, two, or three of the NFL Draft, However, the Bears could easily trade up if they view one of them as being a game-changer that can elevate the defense. Let’s list some names and find out.
