Georgia. 2. player. 57. Scouting Report. QB. Jake Fromm. Pick Analysis

With the 43rd overall pick, and the Bears’ first pick in this year’s draft, they go out and make a bold selection. They’re taking Jake Fromm, quarterback out of Georgia.

Fromm is a polarizing prospect, because there are many who simply don’t buy into him as a pro quarterback. He has had his lulls in performance at times, but for the most part, he’s shown up when it counts. He comes up big in the important games.

Not only does this guy show up in those moments, he makes some of his best throws on the big stage. For example, check out this beauty just a short while ago at the 2020 Sugar Bowl.

The Bears do have a quarterback problem, regardless of whether or not all fans want to admit it. I don’t care who you are. If you think Mitchell Trubisky is a fine starter going forward, you’re sadly confused.

Fromm is a guy who could come in and compete from Day 1. He may not beat Trubisky out for the job, but he’ll be right there waiting for when his chance comes.

Overall, in 43 games at Georgia, Fromm completed 63.3 percent of his passes while throwing for 8,236 yards, 78 touchdowns and just 18 interceptions. He could have decided to stay his senior season, but Fromm declared, knowing there will be teams ready and willing to take a shot on him.

If he’s there at pick 43, I’d be surprised if the Bears passed on him.
