Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have a couple of glaring questions to address.

The question is, will Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace decide to address those positions of need or go with his infamous best-player-available approach? While I’m always on board for Pace’s idea of snagging the best player available, I’m not so sure he’s actually taken the best player available over the years.

However, this year is an important one for Pace, He has some big decisions to make when it comes to the team’s cap space and potentially cutting ties with a few players, one way or another.

For right now, going into the free agency period, the Bears have some very real positions of need: Offensive line, tight end, edge rusher, cornerback, safety and quarterback. Put them in whichever order you would like, but those are the primary areas for Pace to focus on, and you better believe he knows it.

Beyond free agency, Pace has his work cut out for him in this year’s draft. After all, the Bears do not own a pick in the first round and won’t make their first selection until no. 43 overall in the second round. They do, though, own another pick in that second round at 50. But, you can kiss the first-round conversation goodbye thanks to the Khalil Mack trade (still totally worth it, by the way).

Now that we’re past Bowl season, it’s time to dig a little deeper into the offseason at hand, even though we have yet to see the Super Bowl pan out — for Bears fans, it is the offseason already. Watching Championship weekend and the Super Bowl is obviously still on the docket, but if we’re being honest, aren’t we all thinking about the upcoming months?

Who is ready for the draft?

Using the various simulators and rankings we have at our disposal, the following is a mock draft which addresses two of the major needs on this team right away. Let’s get to it.
