The Chicago Bears have a new offensive coordinator in former Cincinnati Bengals OC Bill Lazor.

This has been a week filled with answers for Chicago Bears fans. Over the last few days, we have seen general manager Ryan Pace fill vacancies and square away the coaching staff going forward.

The offseason started early for the Bears after a disappointing 2019 season, and fans deserve to see changes. Pace started that process by firing a few assistants, and has since been filling those vacancies one by one.

What’s the plan going forward? I suppose you could sum it up by saying this: It’s Mitchell Trubisky or bust in Chicago. By now, we should all know those famous words spoken by Pace in his end-of-season press conference.

Trubisky is the starter going into the 2020 season.

While most of us will believe it when we see it, I’m sure part of us also believe it with certainty. After all, this is coming from the general manager who thought Mike Glennon could be the answer  at one point.

Anyways, the offense moves forward with Trubisky (for now) and will have a couple of new names on staff to help the kid fix his game.

It has been a couple of days since bringing on Bill Lazor as the new offensive coordinator, and we also now know who will join him on staff to work with Mitchell Trubisky. Veteran offensive mind John DeFilippo was brought on to coach the quarterbacks this week, as well, and will work closely with Lazor.

Focusing specifically on Lazor, though, what does that hire mean? What could we see happen within Chicago’s offense because of this hire? I have a few ideas, and I’ll share them with you ahead.
