Chicago Bears: 3 standout National Championship prospects
As documented before, the Chicago Bears offense needs help. They need help at just about every single position. We are still sort of unsure how things will go with their running back situation but other than that, there is room for improvement everywhere. They could absolutely use some help with their wide receivers as mentioned before in order to help Mitchell Trubisky. It is unclear how much longer they will have him but without any receivers, there isn’t much of a point to try.
Justin Jefferson was outstanding this season for the LSU tigers. He is going to be drafted right around the time the Bears will have two picks in the second round. Obviously, anything could happen but it appears he will be right in the wheelhouse of where the Bears will be selecting. He has had multiple good games in a row so taking a chance on him would be something that could be super beneficial to the Bears offense as soon as next season.
He had nine receptions that were tied with his teammate Ja’Marr Chase for the lead of anyone in the game on either side. Joe Burrow had no issue finding this guy all season long and nothing changed here. Those nice receptions saw him earn 106 yards. He didn’t get into the endzone in this game but he had some other teammates do that for him so it didn’t really matter. He was the second-leading receiver in the entire game only behind Chase. The fact that LSU had two receivers collect more yards than anyone on Clemson is crazy. They both also doubled everyone else on their own team as well.
These are three really solid options that the Bears can look for over the course of the next two drafts. They are all options to help Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy improve the offense. The Bears have a good enough defense but they simply do not score enough points. If they can add some pieces to change that narrative, they could be in good shape moving forward.
