Trade No. 1

On one hand, it feels like it has been forever since Derrick Rose donned a Bulls uniform. On the other hand, it feels like just yesterday. It’s a weird dynamic, because Rose has a special place in many Bulls fans’ hearts. What he did during his time in Chicago was pretty special.

If the Bulls wanted him back, they could do something along the lines of this deal.

Chicago would send Kris Dunn, Chandler Hutchison and a second-round pick to Detroit in exchange for Rose, who still has a year left on his contract — which is a great value, by the way.

The Pistons would not move Rose unless he specifically requested to be traded, per reports. But, if Detroit is indeed going to throw in the towel on the rest of the season, at least netting a young player like Hutchison and a future draft pick would assist them down that avenue.

For the Bulls, adding Rose would immediately launch them back into contention for a playoff spot. The way Rose has played this season, he’s looking at potentially getting himself into the All Star Game — in Chicago, mind you.

Rose is averaging the most points and assists per 36 minutes he’s ever had over his entire NBA career — 25.2 points and 8.3 assists. Even as a backup point guard, this guy is playing like an MVP. it is remarkable, honestly.
