Trade No. 1

This first trade is a bit spicy. Recently, it has been reported that the Los Angeles Lakers have initiated trade talks regarding forward Kyle Kuzma. So, why not throw your name in the hat if you’re the Bulls? Kuzma is an incredibly exciting, young forward who offers a load of potential.

For this package, the Bulls would send Lauri Markkanen, Thaddeus Young and this year’s first-round pick to the Lakers in exchange for Kuzma, Jared Dudley and Danny Green.

For the Bulls, this gives them a guy who can be a definitive starter at small or power forward. Prior to seeing reduced minutes this year, Kuzma was coming off a year in which he averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 boards and 2.5 assists while shooting 45.6 percent from the field.

Going forward, they would also have Green for another year beyond this season. That gives them a strong veteran presence off the bench and a viable option in clutch moments.

On Los Angeles’ end, they get a young power forward in Markkanen who could even start at the three. Either way, he gives the Lakers some intriguing options in terms of rotations, because they also have Dwight Howard and, of course, Anthony Davis.

The big piece, though, is a first round pick (likely high) to give the Lakers another youthful playmaker in this year’s draft to come in and hopefully contribute towards a title run.
