Chicago Blackhawks’ forward Patrick Kane is nearing his 1,000th career point. When he hits the mark, he will be the fourth player to ever do so in a Blackhawks’ jersey.

It’s been a long time since Patrick Kane hasn’t been the most skilled player on Chicago Blackhawks. Heck, it’s been a long time since he hasn’t been the best player on the ice in general. As a non-bias hockey fan, I’ll say he is a top-five player in this league. McDavid, Crosby, and Ovechkin are better than him, maybe you could find another player, but it is close.

The Blackhawks drafted Kane in 2007. Since then, there has been a lot of personal success for the Buffalo native. Speaking of Buffalo, Kane scored his 900th career point in his hometown last season. The point was scored on a breakaway from Kane.

Kane currently has 993 points in 947 games. He leads the Blackhawks in points with 55 this season. After being left off the score sheet against Calgary on Tuesday, it’s fair to say he will be back on the score sheet tonight against Nashville.

Looking at the team’s schedule, my guess is Kane will hit the 1,000 points mark on January 19th against the Jets. That gives him six games to get seven points. He might hit it before then, I am just giving room for games without a point. I hope he does it tonight against Nashville. A seven-point night would hopefully mean a blowout victory for the team.

What’s exciting about these last few seasons is how well he has played going into his 30s and beyond. It seems like each year Kane has a 10 game point streak or gets close to another milestone.

In 2021 a few other milestones Kane will be looking at are 1,000 games skated, 1,100-points, and hopefully another Stanley Cup. If you ask Kane, the most important one of the three would be the Stanley Cup. After he hit 900 career points, he was just excited the team won. That is the kind of guy Kane is, he puts the team first.

Next. Blackhawks: Two goalies the team can trade at the deadline. dark

So, seven points to go until Kane hits 1,000. The next few games will be exciting. He can go out and have a breakout game tonight and score multiple goals and end up with five points. He could go scoreless and take a few games to get closer. The big thing to remember is, he will hit it before the all-star break. There are too many games between then and now for him to not hit 1,000 points.
