The Chicago Bears know Mitchell Trubisky needs help at the quarterback position and who better to teach him than Tom Brady.

The Chicago Bears are not ready to give up on starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

That much was clear when Bears’ general manager Ryan Pace doubled-down on his faith in Trbusky while speaking to reporters last week at the Bears’ end-of-season press conference. Pace, however, was willing to admit that the Trubisky did need to improve upon his play from the 2019 and be more consistent at the position.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy expanded and specifically mentioned that Trubisky needs to learn how to understand the defensive coverages that he is looking at while on the field.

Tom Brady would be the perfect candidate to help Trubisky learn about the mental aspects of the game.

While Brady may not have the physical traits that he had in his prime, there is no question that his mental traits are unmatched at the quarterback position.

Brady has an extensive list of back-up quarterbacks that played under him that went on to starting jobs elsewhere. For a long time, Matt Cassell was Brady’s star protege. However, recent examples are Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett. Garropolo is starting quarterback for the San Franciso 49ers while Brissett started for the Indianapolis Colts this season.

So, how can Brady and Trubisky co-exist?

Lets first make one thing clear. If Brady were to sign with the Bears, he would not be signing to be the backup to Trubisky and he would not be signing as the Bears’ long-term answer at the quarterback position.

The goal would be for Brady to start over the course of the next season or two as the Bears look to take advantage of their competitive window. Meanwhile, Trubisky would serve as Brady’s backup.

Trubisky will spend the next two seasons learning from Brady as he sits alongside him during position meetings, practices, and games. Trubisky will also be able to hear Brady’s cadence while the future Hall of Famer is in the game.

Therefore, when Brady is ready to ride off into the sunset, Trubisky would be ready from an intelligence aspect to return as starting quarterback of the Bears.
