Chicago Bears: 3 reasons Tom Brady is a fit

There are two takeaways when looking at the 2019 seasons of the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots.
If the Bears had league-average quarterback play, chances are they would have made playoffs. In games when Mitchell Trubisky boasted a quarterback rating over 92 (the league average in 2019), the Bears were 4-0.
For the Patriots, if Brady was equipped with the same skill-position players that the Bears had, chances are they would still be playing in the playoffs as opposed to eliminated after the Wild Card game.

Therefore, if Brady is looking for a team that already has the pieces in place and the Bears are looking for league-average quarterback play, then the two teams would appear to be an ideal match.
If the Patriots’ loss to the Titans on Saturday highlighted anything, it was that Brady is lacking the jump-ball wide receiver in which Brady trusts. Tthe receiver that will make the play in a contested situation. Patriots’ wide receiver Julian Edelman is certainly one of the game’s greatest slot receivers of all time but he lacks the size of a true No.1 possession receiver.
Enter Allen Robinson.
Despite poor quarterback play in 2019, Robinson firmly cemented himself as the team’s No.1 wide receiver. Robinson compiled 1,147 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns last season while totaling 98 receptions. Robinson thrives in jump-ball situations and that would work towards Brady’s ability to lob pass in the perfect spot. That was the case when Brady was throwing to wide receiver Randy Moss and tight end Rob Gronkowski over the course of their respective careers.
Outside of Robinson, the Bears also features the likes of wide receiver Anthony Miller and running backs Tarik Cohen and David Montgomery. While those three players all had their respective shortcomings in 2019, they still would pose as an offensive upgrade for Brady.
At 42 years of age, Brady can no longer be considered the type to turn no-named skill-position players into household names. Brady needs help and the Bears’ offense has the talent that the Patriots lacked.
