The Chicago Bears need to hop on the hiring train as plenty of teams are making coaching moves.

Just what exactly is the plan for Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace and his coaching vacancies? The rest of the NFL is making moves, filling head coaching spots. So, coordinator positions will need to be filled shortly as well.

One of the things Pace could be waiting for is to see if any current coaches and coordinators keep their existing positions under new head coaches. If that’s the case, there are a couple of options to keep in mind, particularly for the open offensive coordinator spot in Chicago.

Regardless of who Pace has in mind, one thing is clear: He is sticking with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, for now. Pace made sure he let the media know, during his end-of-season press conference, that the team is moving forward with Trubisky as their starting quarterback.

Now, that piece of information alone makes Bears fans feel all kinds of ways. It’s the Bears. It’s the quarterback position. Of course opinions are completely split — some things never change.

No matter how you feel about Trubisky being “the guy” next season (and maybe in 2021), we can all agree that it’s up to Pace to lie in the bed he made. At this point, he’s going to have to bring in a coordinator who not only works well with Matt Nagy, but who can elevate Trubisky’s game going forward.

This might be one of the last coaching hires for Pace, depending on whether or not he gets it right and whether or not Trubisky pans out.

So, who are the likely candidates to fill the offensive coordinator opening in Chicago? There are actually quite a few whom fans should be happy with. The following, however, are the top three (and most likely) candidates to step in and take the opening left by Mark Helfrich.
