1. Represent the hometown team

Over the last few years, the Bulls haven’t had much representation in the league’s All Star Weekend. The team hasn’t had a true All Star since the 2016-2017 season when Jimmy Butler was selected to the roster. The two years before that season, it was both Butler and Pau Gasol making the team.

More from Da Windy City

Joakim Noah made a few All Star teams leading up to Butler and Gasol’s days, along with Luol Deng. It seems like forever ago that Derrick Rose was an All Star in a Bulls uniform — the last time that happened was during the 2011-2012 campaign.

This year, the Bulls may not have an All Star outside of LaVine surprising us. But, because the All Star festivities are in Chicago this year, it would be fantastic for the city to have more representation.

Rookie Coby White will surely be involved in the Rising Stars Challenge and very well could end up earning MVP honors in that game. Hopefully, he’s past his rookie wall soon enough and can show out during that exhibition.

Adding LaVine to the weekend representatives would make the city and organization proud. If the Bulls had a pair of young, exciting players involved in the All Star Weekend, it would help make light of an otherwise disappointing season.
