Chicago Cubs Rumors: 3 outcomes of a Kris Bryant trade
By Jason Parini
A disappointed fanbase
Trading Bryant would make a lot of fans unhappy for a lot of reasons.
To start with, it would be a huge blow to the beloved championship core from 2016 and the current team. Not only is Bryant exceptionally talented, but he’s also loved in the clubhouse and fanbase.
I mean, how could anyone not miss that smile?!
In the words of Da Windy City writer and Cubs expert Ryan Sikes, you’ll find him “curled up in a ball crying to Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You'” if KB is traded.
There’s an image for you, and an accurate one at that.
Bryant is a once-in-a-generation talent, and someone who has already cemented himself as a favorite player of countless Cubs fans young and old.
Attendance would decline. Jersey sales would decrease. The end of Bryzzo.
It would be dark times again on the North Side until the team can contend again.
Bryant has been responsible for so many highs of the last five years, from a World Series championship and MVP season to his infamous and accurate description of the boring and ugly little brother of Chicago that is the City of St. Louis.
Chicago owes Kris Bryant a lot, and there’s certainly more that KB has to give.
If only the Cubs front office would begin to repay him.
