Chicago Bears: 5 potential free agent adds from Wildcard weekend

Quarterback Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans
With a few key needs on the offensive line and at tight end, it seems as though the biggest topic amongst fans will forever be the quarterback position. Right now, we’re coming off an end-of-season press conference in which Ryan Pace said the team is sticking with Mitchell Trubisky as their starting quarterback for 2020.

Now, you can’t always believe everything you hear. But, who is to say the Bears won’t bring in a veteran or draft a guy to come in and compete with Trubisky, or at least push him throughout the summer?
Former Heisman Trophy winner and second overall pick Marcus Mariota will likely be looking for a new home this offseason after being benched by the Tennessee Titans this year. In his place, Ryan Tannehill led the Titans to a playoff berth and played lights-out.
The Bears fired Mark Helfrich, whom was the main connection with Mariota having coached him at Oregon. But, Mariota might still be an option for the Bears if he came at the right price. Personally, I would rather draft a guy to compete with Trubisky, but Mariota seems like a total Pace move — whether or not that’s a good thing, I’ll let you decide.
Mariota would still bring plenty of experience with him as an option in Chicago and boasts an ability to move around a little bit. His best days were back in 2016 when he threw 26 touchdowns versus nine picks, while also rushing for 349 yards and a pair of scores.
