Chicago Blackhawks. Duncan Keith. 3. player. 94. . D

Duncan Keith is the best defenseman who ever played for the Chicago Blackhawks. Some old school Blackhawks fans might disagree because there certainly have been some great ones but Keith did everything there is to do for Chicago. He was the number one defenseman on a team that won three Stanley Cups in six seasons. All of the numbers are in Keith’s favor proving that he is the best defenseman not only of the 2010s but in the team’s history.

Keith won the Norris Trophy twice in the decade. Only San Jose Sharks defenseman can also say that while he was playing for the Ottawa Senators. There was a point during the decade where Duncan Keith was the best defenseman in the world. He led the Blackhawks blue line and made everybody around him better. He would be number one on most decade lists if he was on another team. The Blackhawks might not win a single Stanley Cup if Duncan Keith wasn’t there as a true number one.

In addition to the Stanley Cups and the Norris Trophies, Keith was also a multi-time Gold Medal winner for Team Canada at the Olympics. He also won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the playoffs for the 2015 Stanley Cup champion Hawks. Keith was a monster in all three zones for the Blackhawks during the 2010s, making him one of the best non-first rounds picks they have ever had. The 2020s should see Keith’s first ballot induction to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
