Brent Seabrook is one of the best defensemen to ever lace them up for the Chicago Blackhawks. He has been a part of all three Stanley Cup Champions with them this decade. He has been so good throughout his career that he was a Team Canada guy during the 2010 Winter Olympics. He has also had some Norris Trophy top-20 finishes throughout his career. He has been not only one of the best defensemen for the team but just one of the best players in general.
Seabrook was effective because of his ability to make big hits, play solid defensively, and produce offense. He was the Blackhawks’ first overall pick in the 2003 NHL draft at 14 overall. Since then, he has basically developed into mister everything for them. He has 103 goals and 361 assists for 464 points in an incredible 1114 games played. That only accounts for his regular-season numbers. He has 20 goals and 39 assists for 59 points in 123 playoff games. That is a lot of hard hockey played over his great 15-year career.
The fun thing when thinking about Seabrook as well is his clutch gene. The man had a knack for scoring overtime playoff goals as well as lots of great game-tying goals late. If you needed a big spark from the back end, Brent Seabrook was there for you. He would be much higher on this list on most other teams which shows how special the 2010s were for the Chicago Blackhawks.
