Chicago Blackhawks: Kane is in ASG so time to vote for Toews
The Chicago Blackhawks have an All-Star in Patrick Kane but now it is time to vote for Jonathan Toews to be the “Last Man In”.
The Chicago Blackhawks are sending Patrick Kane to the All-Star game. That might have been the most predictable bit of hockey news this season. He is the Blackhawks’ leading scorer so far this season. Nobody on the team is going to come close to catching him. He is still one of the elite point producers in the NHL and is being recognized as such. This will be the 9th All-Star Game for Kane which leads everybody in the NHL who made it.
The Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues are hosting it this year. The NHL announced the “Last Man In” vote. The voting starts on New Year’s Day and has one representative from each team eligible. Each division will have one winner. Jonathan Toews is the Blackhawks nominee to be added to the Central Division. He is going up against Cale Makar, Jamie Benn, Ryan Suter, Matt Duchene, David Perron, Patrik Laine. That is a phenomenal list of players so Blackhawks fans are going to have to really vote to get Toews in.
Jonathan Toews is having a good season in his own right. It isn’t the same point pace as last season but different circumstances have caused the totals to come down just a little bit. He still is having a solid year and deserves to be on the All-Star roster once again. The voting is up to the fans so being in a big market like Chicago could help Toews get in. Chicago has come through in the past in other sports so it is time to go to work for Toews.
He has been one of the best two-way centers for this team for over a decade. He has done everything a captain needs to do to help his team win multiple championships. The fanbase owes it to Toews to vote nonstop and get him into the All-Star weekend festivities.
