1. TE Brycen Hopkins, Purdue

It’s no secret that the tight end position has been a major disaster on the Bears ever since Zach Miller went down with a leg injury back in 2017. While the Bears thought that Trey Burton and Adam Shaheen could both be the future at tight end, they’ve been injured multiple times throughout the course of the last two seasons.

This is where Purdue tight end Brycen Hopkins comes into the picture. One of the best things to like about Hopkins is his ability to run a full route tree. This is important because in the Bears offense, tight ends are the focal point of everything. Another thing to love about Hopkins is the level of versatility he brings to the table. Throughout his college career, he’s seen action by lining up all over the field, mainly in places such as the slot, while lining up on the line of scrimmage or in the backfield.

With Hopkins, who many consider to be the top tight end in the class of 2020, he fits what the Bears want to build on offense. As of right now, he should be available when the Bears pick in the second round. While he could certainly rise throughout the draft process, he’s one name that needs to be high up on the Bears draft board.
