1. The trade up for Mitchell Trubisky

You guessed it. The biggest moment of the 2010s in Chicago Bears history. Nobody will ever forget what happened on the night of April 27th, 2017 in Philadelphia. The Bears, who were originally projected to pick at third overall traded two third-round picks and a fourth-round pick to move up one spot and draft Trubisky.

At first, the conversation was all about the price that the Bears paid to move up get Trubisky when they could have just stayed at third overall and likely drafted him. Then the conversation shifted to the Bears passing on Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes for Trubisky both of whom were available when the Bears picked.

The reality of things is that after his only year starting at the University of North Carolina, many saw the arrow pointing up for Trubisky as a guy who could end up being a solid starter in the NFL. However, three years into Trubisky’s career and there’s still no indication of what he’s going to become or what he can be.

Even today, Bears fans are split on Trubisky. His 2018 season showed tons of promise however 2019 has been rough to watch to the point where many are hoping he’s not the Bears starting quarterback in 2020.

The Bears have always been known for not having a franchise quarterback however so this trade up for Trubisky, even with two much more polished quarterbacks on the board is one that could end up being the best or worst moment of the 2010s at some point down the road.
