3. The Hiring of Matt Nagy

The Bears’ fourth and final head coach hiring of the 2010s, what makes the hiring of Matt Nagy so significant is the fact that the Bears will finally try to have a head coach that will make them relevant year in and year out for as long Nagy can possibly coach.

While hiring Nagy was mainly because of the fact that the Bears front office and ownership thought that he’s a guy who can grow with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, Nagy has also been pointed as being an offensive guru who’s a creative play-caller.

During his first season as Bears head coach, Nagy would lead the Bears to a 12-4 record, an NFC North division championship, and a playoff appearance. However, the Bears would lose in the playoffs to the Philadelphia Eagles in what will go down as the worst loss by a team in Chicago sports in recent memory.

During his second season, Nagy has not been perfect and has been the center of a lot of negative attention and while the Bears will miss the playoffs, he’s still managed to keep the locker room intact and players still have respect for him.
