4. Kicker Robbie Gould (2005-2015)

So, he was cut.
Since that year, the Bears have not found a permanent solution at the kicker position. In fact, it’s been one of the more laughable stories in the NFL. Chicago has seen several kickers come through as either a tryout or a temporary fix, but none have been more talked about than Cody Parkey.
We don’t have to go there — I’ll stop now.
Meanwhile, Gould went on to have some of the best years of his career after being cut by the Bears. In 2018, he only missed one kick while making 33 field goals in total, finishing with 97.1 percent accuracy.
All of the sudden, after the Bears’ early playoff exit, Gould was the hottest name amongst fans for the next several months. Just a few years ago, fans wanted this guy gone — and they got their wish. Now, realizing who they had gotten rid of, the fans totally turned back to him.
It really is funny, isn’t it? I mean, the whole kicking mess in Chicago isn’t funny whatsoever. But, it’s funny how Gould was left for dead by a lot of fans, but just a few years later, most of them wanted him back.
