5. Running Back Jordan Howard (2016-2018)

Boy, there is a lot to unpack here, especially after the Bears’ 2019 season. This past offseason, Ryan Pace decided it was best to trade Jordan Howard to the Philadelphia Eagles. Fast forward, and the Bears have been, for the most part, pretty bad at running the football.

Over his three years with the Bears and to begin his career, Howard averaged more than 1,000 yards on the ground each season. It’s easy to point at his yards-per-carry going down each season, and the narrative that he “couldn’t catch the football,” which is somewhat debatable. Regardless, the Bears traded him.

There are really only two sides to an opinion on Howard, as a Bears fan. You’re either one of the people who wanted him trade, or you’re someone who thought he should have stuck around. Typically, there isn’t much middle ground — thus him being a polarizing player in Chicago.

Now that he is an Eagle, Howard has rushed for 525 yards in nine games while averaging 4.4 yards per carry. As of late, he’s been hurt and hasn’t appeared in a game since November 3rd. But, while having to share time with rookie Miles Sanders, he has looked good. At times, he’s looked just as great as he was with the Bears.

So, with what we know now, I ask you this: Do you wish the Bears would have held onto Howard?
