Chicago Bears 2020 NFL Mock Draft: A Christmas List
By Ryan Heckman
Chicago Bears fans are already looking forward to how the team can turn things around via the 2020 NFL Draft.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and if you’re a Chicago Bears fan, the wish list continues to grow. The 2019 season has been a major disappointment and, unless you’re on the outside looking in at Bears fandom, a surprise. If you’re like me, you’re already excited and ready for the draft next spring.
Using a few outlets’ latest rankings and simulations, we have come up with our latest 2020 NFL Mock Draft for the Bears, except in Christmas list form.
At each pick, we’ll select a player who may or may not be there, but could have enormous upside. At the same pick, we’ll come up with a short Christmas list of other names who could potentially be selected at that spot, should the preferred name be taken already.
Using the Draft Network mock draft simulator, combined with rankings from CBS Sports and Draft Tek, we came up with a highly intriguing piece. It’s also worth noting, the current selections are based on standings as we speak — these may change slightly by draft day.
Is it controversial? Oh, absolutely. Not every fan will agree with the favorite selections. In fact, some might hate them. But, in the end, I believe the Bears would be a better team because of these players.
Some of the pressing needs for the Bears, at the moment, are: Tight end, offensive line, cornerback, quarterback and edge rusher. But, the way I see it, general manager Ryan Pace must draft talent over need. That’s how you find game-changing players. Those of you who disagree, I can’t help.
Ready for a controversial pick right off the bat? Sure you are. Let’s get to it.
