4. Let’s talk Khalil Mack. This will be the first time the Chiefs face Mack since he was traded back in 2018. What do the Chiefs need to do in order to slow Mack down who will be running after Patrick Mahomes all game?

Oleszczak: If I’m being 100% honest, they probably won’t slow down Khalil Mack much. The offensive line has been dinged up all year long and that’s led to some defenses feasting up front. So to answer your question, KC will probably slide in an extra blocker or Mahomes might have to opt for shorter passes rather than trying for the long ball.

Takeaway: Kansas City will likely use an extra tight end to try and chip Khalil Mack. Another thing that may be done is have an extra offensive lineman line up on the side that Mack is rushing from. This means that other players on the Bears defense such as Leonard Floyd and Akiem Hicks will need to step up and get after Mahomes.

However, in the past, Mahomes has also shown the ability to get the ball out quickly which means that when Mack gets in his face on Sunday night, he’ll be looking to get the ball out to guys like Tyreek Hill and then just have his playmakers do the rest of the work. Even if Mack doesn’t end up stuffing the stat sheet, he should still have a relatively good game in terms of making the quarterback hurry and doing anything he can in order to slow Mahomes down.
